With the advent of colder weather, one of my favourite things to do in Canberra is walking. And it is even better when you can walk for a cause.

Sunday 1st May 2016 is a family friendly event around Lake Burley Griffin, Central Basin. Ks for Kids offers options for a 30km walk or run, or shorter ones such as 15km or 5km (with kids in tow, I will be doing the shorter one).
Ks for Kids raises money to support Children’s Medical Research Institute in advancing treatments and prevention of childhood disease, including cancer and other issues such as cleft lip and palate and discovering a new class of drugs for treating epilepsy . Other than Big A having a mild disability, I am blessed that my children are healthy – but sadly many young children face the scary prospect of illness and disease.
1 May might seem like a long way away, but put it in your diary now. And if you sign up before March 24th you access the early bird rate.
What a worthy cause to walk for!
Thank you. I was very impressed with the research Ks for Kids is funding. And I know it will be a really fun day.
