On day 68, I had a one on one meeting with Janine Linklater, development manager at the Southern Region Business Enterprise Centre.
Having decided on a YOLO quit your job and live your dreams approach, I now need to make it work. It’s fine to have creative big dreams, but at the moment I need to find ways to make it translate into a passive money stream and create a long-term business model.
As part of this, I’ve been doing a series of extremely useful courses run by the Southern Region Business Enterprise Centre at the Canberra Business Chamber. As I said to Janine (perhaps not too tactfully), I had low expectations when I signed up. But the two courses I have done so far have been good – really good. I have had several ‘ah ha’ lightbulb moments, and I’ve also met some other people doing really cool things.
I had a one-on-one meeting with Janine to work through my individual model. I know what I want to do but I still have a lot of monetization questions. Janine was so patient and it was a fabulous chat. I gave her a copy of Seth Godin’s classic Purple Cow: Transform Your Business by Being Remarkable. The book is all about, well, being unique and remarkable in business. I found this book really interesting, and I hope she does, too.
I’ve been doing some great training lately. Do you enjoy training?
