I was privileged to have been invited to participate in the Zero Waste Revolution Festival 2020 this week, which was streamed live from the Canberra Environment Centre. And with their blessing, I gave away some jars.
I had so much fun on my masterclass about sustainable money-saving tips at the Canberra Environment Centre. I arrived with a show bag of items to give away and talk about. And to demonstrate the importance of Joyful Giving, I gave Executive Director Ryan Lungu three glass jars.
“That’s hardly very generous of you, Serina,” you might think. “They are only FREE glass jars!”
But a key issue is not gifting stuff that individuals or organisations don’t want. I know that the centre needs glass jars, which it uses to pickle or make preserves in summer and autumn from its garden.
And Ryan looks pretty happy with the jars, or at least I like to think so.
Sourdough starter
This week, I’ve given away another two jars of sourdough starter. Yep, it’s popular. One was an random gift to someone whose partner is a chef. I’m hoping he enjoys baking with it as much as I do.
