Foraging for mushrooms🍄 and drying them for fut Foraging for mushrooms🍄 and drying them for future use. They make the best risotto.

Last weekend I picked some mushrooms at my inlaw's property. FIL has been eating them for over 20 years so I reckon they are pretty safe.

Some ground rules

🍄Never pick and eat any mushrooms you are not sure about

🍄When in doubt, don't

🍄Go with someone who knows what they are doing and can identify the right ones

🍄Look for ones with black gills - preferably ones that are open (but even then only pick if you can identify they are OK)

🍄Choose mushrooms growing in open fields (although ones in pine forests can be nice) - where I live there are dangerous mushrooms that grow under oak trees so best to avoid the area just in case

🍄Let your MIL eat them first (just kidding, she didn't like mushrooms and she picked them with me)

Do you forage? And if so, what do you forage for?
