Family cruise time. We've just finished a three da Family cruise time. We've just finished a three day 1980s cruise, and are about to embark on a Pacific adventure. Being financially secure means you have $$$ to live with joy and create some happy memories. Yes there are a lot of cheaper ways to holiday, and you don't need to go on holidays just to spend time with family. But being in a good financial position does mean you can save for special times. My kids went be young forever. We've had a lot of fun. 

Our budget includes holidays. Each fortnight we put an amount aside into a special holidays account, and we use that for all our holiday expenses. The best part of a holiday? Coming home without a credit card hangover.
